Local Genealogy Resources: New Kent, Charles City, and Surrounding Area

Online church and cemetery indices from New Kent, Hanover, and King William Counties, and New Kent Birth, Death, and Marriage indices are made available by Loretta and Hawthorne Davis.  The Davis' continue to write indices for local churches and cemeteries. As new indices are released, they provide a hardcopy at the New Kent Location of the Heritage Public Library for the library's Genealogy Reference area and they provide an electronic index for the library's website.

Charles City Genealogical Databases linked below were made available online by the Charles City History Center. Databases include War World I, 1870 Census, Revolutionary War Roster, Charles City Marriage Database dating back to 1762, Slave Ancestor File, and Free Negro and Mulatto Registrations.
